Original Reiki

Original Reiki harkens back to the initial reiki system received in Japan at Mount Kurama by Master Usui. Over time, Master Usui changed his reiki system to include the Dai Ko Myo symbol, certain hand positions, and meditation practices.

Ole Gabrielsen received this particular attunement unexpectedly during his visit to Mount Kurama in Japan, and he believes it to be the “original” attunement that Master Usui received. 

Personally, I love working with both systems, and I enjoy using them in tandem in sessions. When comparing the systems, Usui Reiki feels heavier to me, and I find that I use it more frequently with physical healing whereas Original Reiki feels lighter, joyful, peaceful, gentle and yet powerful. 

After running this energy, I find that clients feel more peaceful and cheerful overall. For this reason, I often use Original Reiki to address underlying emotional and psychological issues for physical ailments, and it is a foundational reiki system to use if I am working primarily on emotional or psychological issues with a client.  

The Original Reiki system has the 3 symbols usually taught in Usui 2 and it includes 4 attunements.
